Valleys
A valley is where two roof slopes meet and channel water down between them. Because it carries the run-off from both sides, a worn or split valley leaks quickly. Flashings against brickwork

Why is there a damp patch on my chimney breast?
Common causes are failed flashing where the stack meets the roof, porous or poorly pointed brickwork, or rain getting in down an uncapped flue. We check each so the right one gets fixed.
Can lead flashing be repaired or does it need replacing?
Lead that has only lifted can sometimes be re-dressed and re-secured. Lead that has cracked, split or thinned with age is better replaced.
Do you replace chimney pots and fit cowls?
Yes. Cracked or loose pots can be replaced, and cowls or caps can be fitted to keep rain and birds out of flues.
What is a lead valley on a roof?
It's a lead-lined channel where two sloping roof sections meet. It carries water from both slopes down to the gutter, which makes it one of the hardest-working parts of the roof.
